UGM Rector, Prof. Ir. Panut Mulyono, M. Eng., D. Eng., IPU., ASEAN Eng., Issued Form Letter Number 1683 / UN1.P / HKL / TR / 2020 Concerning the Maximum Limitation of Activities at the UGM Campus.
According to the rector, the issuance of the form letter had considered several things, such as the number of positive Covid-19 patients and patients under surveillance had increased significantly both in the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) and at the national level. Also, the capacity of health screening and nursing care equipment in hospitals is limited as well as a large number of non-correspondence activities are still carried out on campus.
“The maximum limitation of activities on the UGM campus starts on March 23, 2020,” the rector said on Saturday (3/21).
In connection with this, several arrangements were imposed. Lecturers and education staffs are fully working from home; students also attend online learning from their residence; non-academic activities on campus are eliminated; UGM academicians from outside DIY continue to live in DIY by rector form letter No.1606 / UN1.P / HKL / TR / 2020; campus entry/exit access is reorganized by PK4L while still providing vital or emergency access; internet access is restricted to certain environments and times; rector permits UGM academicians or certain parties, who because of the nature of their work or interests, especially activities related to Covid-19’s control efforts, require them to enter / exit campus; the implementation of this decision is regulated by the Dean and the head of each work unit taking into account emergency conditions and safety standards; this decision will be reviewed periodically with due regard to regional and national situations.
